Floridian doctors and nurses fight COVID-19 in other parts of the world Florida, Apr 1 – Three professionals from the Public Health System of the municipality of Florida make up today several of the collaborative brigades of Cuban contingent Henry Reeve that arrived in different parts of the world with the aim of helping in the gigantic battle against the advance of the pandemic of COVID-19, caused by the new coronavirus.

Doctors and specialists in Comprehensive General Medicine Francisco Sánchez Martínez, a worker at the «Manuel Piti Fajardo» general hospital, and Maray Sáez Ávalos, linked to the «Concepción Agramonte» polyclinic, complete the groups that arrived in the South American Republic of Suriname and the island of the Commonwealth of Dominica in the Caribbean respectively.

The contingent of altruists specialized in coping with disasters and serious epidemics was also joined, in the current health emergency, by a graduate in nursing Aldo Moreira López, who is already fulfilling his mission among the inhabitants of the islands of Antigua and Barbuda.

According to the information offered by the Office of the Department of Medical Collaboration belonging to the municipal sector of Public Health in Florida, six other collaborators from the territory, including four doctors and two nurses, receive the necessary training in the Cuban capital to join in the same way the fight for life against the COVID-19 pandemic in other nations of the continent and the rest of the planet.

More than 40 countries have requested the help of Cuba to face the new coronavirus present in more than 174 nations of the world, and to date the land of Fidel has responded with the formation of 13 brigades that act mainly in regions of Latin America and from the European continent.
